Mambo, salsa, hip hop, line, and tap just to name a few and of course, these are all dances. We could also go into the sprinkler and the shopping cart but maybe not this time around. You might think differently that science doesn’t prove that dancing makes you happy but there is reasoning. When we dance we move and when we move we come to a state of glee, that is something you can agree with.
How does dancing make you happy:
if you go to Carnival in Rio De Janeiro or any musical gathering where dancing is involved, there is almost a guarantee that no one will be sad or crying. When your body moves it releases endorphins to your bloodstream and with a raised heart rate there is no way you won’t have a smile on your face. Dancing is a fun kind of workout, that seems more on the relaxing side. Dancing is an emotional experience whether with yourself or with a partner. When you dance with someone it’s a way to exhibit trust, care and love all at the same time and the expressions on your face tell the whole story.
It’s said that you can tell a lot from a person’s personality by how they dance, movement tells an interesting story if you take the time to look a little closer. It has been proven that dancing also boosts your selfawareness and self-esteem. Believe it or not, science has actually proved this to be accurate. So next time you feel down kick your shoes off and move with or without music, you’ll feel better after so why not.
One of the most interesting things that dancing has done is aid those with serious diseases and depression. It’s a little hard to get your head around it but think about it. Whatever energy you put out into the world is the same energy that you will get back in return. This thinking is not that far off. When you’re happy and doing something that makes you feel good on a regular basis, it will make you feel as if you are on top of the world.
There are many skeptics out there that might not believe that dancing has been scientifically proven that it makes you happy, but when we look at all that we have discussed it’s a bit hard not to agree with all these points. It really makes you think about the bigger picture of happiness and how it can really change your life for the better. Sometimes you might not want to cheer yourself up and it’s okay we all have those days but think about all the benefits. So next time you get invited to a wedding maybe skip the ceremony but be there for the free food and off course all the dancing. Also don’t be shy to dance at the club when you are trying to impress that girl or boy because it will make you happy anyway so just dance.
