Positivity and Happiness
Do you feel like the world is crumbling down under the pressure of negativity that surrounds us? Every morning, we scroll through the news section on our phones, laptops or newspapers and once again discover that the world is filled with cruelty and unfairness. Children are dying from hunger, terrorists kill innocent people to prove a point, and wars break out all over the world.
It is such a difficult task to stay positive during the day when these horrendous events are what we see first thing in the morning. Thankfully, there are powerful tips that can help you to break away from these unhealthy patterns and to be the ray of sunlight for your loved ones and for the people in your life.
1. Create an environment with people that have a positive outlook on life
During tough times, it’s best to surround yourself with people that make you happy and have a good influence on your mood and life. People that drag down your actions and health with their worry-filled thoughts and focus only on the negative aspects will not be a good source of happiness for you. Find people that will bring out the best in you and make your inner demons disappear for good.
2. Restrict the amount of negative media information
Think about the daily negative input you get from various media sources such as TV, internet, and newspapers. Of course, you will be depressed, even the happiest person will be sad after looking at all the bad things that happen in the world. Try to limit the amount of time you spend watching horror and drama movies, instead try comedy genre, or play a board game with your family and friends instead of an aggressive video game.
3. Cultivate positive and effective habits
When you want to make a difference, you have to start with yourself. Replace your depressed thoughts with new positive ones. Learn to look at the bright side of things and tame your temper. Breathe in, and develop good habits that will bring you and the world around you the positive changes that you seek.
It’s that simple. Don’t hide your smile, and laugh just because you can!
5. Hug them all
It is well known that hugs help to improve the mood of a person giving and receiving it. We often see people walking around with big signs saying Free Hugs’ that is because studies have shown that hugs improve our immunity system. When we feel down, a simple hug from a person can change our perception of things as support that we receive in a hug can remind us that we are not alone, and it’s not only the bad that exists in the world.
6. Take a break
Sometimes the best thing to do is just to stop what you are doing and to take a break. Shut out the outside angry world and spend the weekend camping in the forest or lying on the secluded beach. Take your family or friends out for a picnic, and allow nature to calm you down and to reset your state of mind.
7. Time for actions
Once you managed to get rid of all the negative thoughts and reached a peaceful and happy state of mind, it’s time to take action. You have the power in your hands to change the world around you. Infect people with your good mood. Show them that life is worth living and have many beautiful aspects to it. Create an environment where everyone sleeps and eats well, where people enjoy light and happy conversations, and where the support is offered whenever it is needed.
